Learn The Technique of Acrylic Painting (Monocrome Manta)
About The Workshop
Painting in a single color or monochrome could be the best way to do value exercise, which involves working to create lighter or darker tones in your painting. Moreover, artists choose to use black and white for aesthetic, emotional, and sometimes even for moral reasons. By reducing the color palette, we may direct the viewer’s attention on a particular subject. It can be very freeing – without the complexities of working in color, you can experiment with form, texture, mark making, and symbolic meaning.
At this workshop, we are going to capture the beauty of Indonesian ocean life by painting a Manta Fish swimming towards the surface, in a black and white. By eliminating colors, allows you to concentrate on the way light and shadow fall across the surface of the Manta Fish as the focal point. Aesthetically, the object will look sharper as the form and texture are emphasized. We look forward to seeing you in the class!
