At this workshop, we will be recreating one of Salvador Dali’s artworks with title “Girl at a Window” This painting was published during Renaissance Era in 1925. This artwork is Dali’s best known and most important early oil on canvas works.
This painting portrays Dali’s sister, Ana Maria. The landscape behind the window is the bay of Cadaqués, Spain, where Dali used to stay every summer. The work we see is the height of tranquility. This serene and peaceful feeling that you get when observing this painting, is a result of Dali use of the predominant colors of light blues and lavenders. The focal point is placed in certain compositions which ensures that the viewer’s eye is drawn, like the girl’s, to the landscape ahead.
