ABOUT THE TEACHER(S)
Herry started to realize the challenge to get healthy food at affordable price in Jakarta back when he came to the city from Medan for college. Being away from his family, Herry missed homemade food a lot. That was his very first trigger to have career in F&B.
Herry believes that everyone deserves high quality food prepared carefully, at the same quality as if it was homemade. During his career as Marketing Manager in Boga Group and Culture Royale, he has learned not only end-to-end F&B business from commercial and operation standpoints, but also how to consistently maintain the food quality while in parallel improving it.
His experience in F&B has made him care about food quality to his core. As people have been getting more health-conscious, Herry then started to find new perspective: the food taste needs to be balanced with guilt-free ingredients, which everyone can enjoy without worrying about the health consequences, such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar or cholesterol.
Herry believes that Indonesian families need both knowledge and access for healthy foods based on their specific needs; however, the channels of which are still limited. These have made him care even more about doing knowledge transfer of healthy dishes criteria and the guidance to as many people as possible. Along with his journey down the road,
Herry imagines that one day people can enjoy low-cholesterol Padang cuisine, diabet-free gudeg, or sweet martabak with low calories. These culinary innovations make him keep going further to make changes with Gorry Gourmet.
