About The Workshop
Hi Learners! You are in for a real treat today! Did you know you can make dye solutions from many things in your house and yard? Berries, vegetables, spices, flowers, and plants can all be used to make the most beautiful hues, using just a few simple steps. The muted colors made by Mother Nature herself are so pretty and the process is really fun for kids (and adults too!). In this workshop, Noesa will be sharing some great recipes and techniques for making lovely natural tie-dye creations.
What will you learn?
How to produce blue (indigo), red (morinda root), and yellow (turmeric( just like we did in Maumere, and how to implement that natural dye colors on textile.
ABOUT THE TEACHER(S)
Noesa is a studio that attempt to embody a mixture of art, culture and nature. We collecting ideas, research and documenting the culture of Indonesia.
We designing our own products. Our product consist of various kind of accessories that focus on Ikat Weaving from Maumere, Flores, precisely in Watublapi Village. And also, we used natural dyes.
Noesa also collaborates with rural artisans, named Watublapi. We encourage them to relearn the ancestral tradition that were being forgotten or replaced. We also help them to earn income to transform their communities by connect them to global market.
